Worship Pastor - Jules Schieferstein

Jules Schieferstein was called to Bloom Baptist Church while studying worship ministry at Cedarville University. Upon graduating, Bloom Baptist voted on and approved appointing him as Worship Pastor, beginning August 8th, 2018. His responsibilities include: shepherding and directing the music ministry at Bloom Baptist, including ordering services, directing band, praise team, and choir, overseeing the tech and sound volunteers, graphic design for sermons and other ministries, administering Bloom's social media profiles, IT, and the website.

Jules met his wife Casey in 2020, and they were married in 2021. In 2025, they are expecting their first child, Lewis. Jules was born in Grand Rapids, Michigan, before moving to New Carlisle, Ohio in 2008, and after coming to Bloom now resides in Lancaster. Jules has a B.A. in Worship from Cedarville University, and is presently studying to receive his M.Div from The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary, with concentrations in Apologetics and Greek Exegesis.

Jules is a self-attesting nerd, and enjoys systematic theology, apologetics, and public theology, and loves to discuss how being a faithful disciple of Jesus interacts with culture and politics. In his spare time, Jules is a great lover of stories across various mediums, whether that be books, TV, films, or games, and loves exploring how they echo the greatest story ever told through Christ in the Bible . As Worship Pastor, he also obviously loves listening to music, and some of his favorite artists include Michael Card, The Gray Havens, Brian Sauvé, and Twenty One Pilots.

One of Jules' favorite verses is Hebrews 12:1-3: "Therefore, since we have so great a cloud of witnesses surrounding us, let us also lay aside every encumbrance and the sin which so easily entangles us, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us, 2 fixing our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of faith, who for the joy set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God. 3 For consider Him who has endured such hostility by sinners against Himself, so that you will not grow weary and lose heart."
